Over the last year we have worked with the management of a number of Australian hotels in Sydney and Port Douglas to perfect the Shower Away concept. We have also worked with some French hotels in Paris. The Shower Away concept has been developed by hotel professionals and is aimed at creating a smooth process that is hotel-centric (fitting in with your current operations), whilst creating an additional stream of room revenue, with the option to suggest-sell food and beverage (hotel restaurants and bars) on check-in and check-out. Shower Away works best for 4 and 5 star hotels located in popular tourist destinations.
How much does it cost my hotel?
Nothing. In the future we plan to charge a small commission.
What are the benefits for my hotel?
A new stream of revenue.
High profit margin (typically more than 50%).
You receive the revenue immediately.
Provides additional upsell opportunities (e.g. F&B).
You can use your 'last-sell' rooms.
Enables you to use underutilised assets (empty rooms).
When you are 100%, you may offer Shower Away between back-to-back overnight stays (at your discretion).
On average, cleaning is much faster and less expensive.
Shower Away fits in with your current hotel operations.
It's an awesome way for guests to 'try' before they 'buy' longer stays.
How do I list my hotel?
Simply contact us. We will list you silently as a 'Mystery Hotel' and send you reservations. We would love to hear from you. When you are ready, we can streamline reservations by connecting via an API.
How much do guests pay?
Guests pay the day rates set by you and are equal to what you are making publicly available on your site or others, such as dayuse.com, daybreakhotels.com and hotelsbyday.com. You can amend your day rates at any time. Your rates and offerings are always subject to your availability and discretion.
May I advertise a Shower Away rate on my hotel website, for direct bookings?
Yes.
Can I use Shower Away to generate income between back-to-back reservations?
Most certainly. Because Shower Away room cleaning is minimal in time and effort, you could re-sell the room to a same day arrival. Additionally, Shower Away rooms will typically be your ‘last sell’ rooms. If you are not 100% occupancy, you also have the option to drop the room and clean it the next day, if this is more convenient.
What if we are running close to 100%, can we stop-sell Shower Away?
Yes, contacting us directly anytime (we never close) or by stop-selling on your channels (once you connect by API). You can also give us instructions ahead of time.
How do I stop guests taking longer than the allotted time slot?
We recommend taking a pre-authorisation for the total overnight rate plus any incidentals, or per your normal hotel policy, and then charging the guest the Shower Away rate (per the reservation confirmation) on check-out. This means if the guest decides to stay longer, including overnight (subject to availability) you have already taken the required pre-authorisation. This also puts the onus on the guest to check-out on time, rather than you having to 'chase' the guest. All of our policies are aimed at allowing Shower Away to work seamlessly and practically within your existing hotel operations.
