FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does Shower Away cost?

Instead of paying the full overnight fee of hundreds of dollars, for a luxury hotel room, you could save hundreds off the overnight rate. You save because you are only paying for the use of the shower and bathroom (not the bedding) and only for up to 2 hours. Prices vary depending on how busy hotels are.

What is the booking process?

  1. Enter details to 'Request Shower’ and receive confirmation (email & SMS) with hotel check-in details.

  2. Check-in by showing photo ID and providing a physical credit card for payment.

  3. Check-out by simply returning the key to the front desk within the timeframe booked.

What happens if I use the bedding?

If you use the bedding, including sitting on the bed or messing up the linen, the front desk will organise this to be cleaned for the next guest. Changing of bedding linen and additional cleaning is not included. If this is required, you will lose your discounted Shower Away rate and the full overnight rate may be applicable per the Terms and Conditions.

What happens if I am late for the reservation?

You have a 2 hour window to check-in (e.g. between 2 and 4 pm) and shower. If you are running late, simply call or text Peter on 0430 525 188, advise when you expect to arrive and we will endeavour to keep your reservation with the hotel.

What happens if I need more time?

If you require more than the timeframe you paid for, please notify the front desk as soon as possible. Generally, if you require more than time, the full overnight rate would be applied (subject to the discretion of the hotel and availability) See Terms and Conditions.

May I cancel my booking?

Yes and there is no cancellation fee if you cancel before the time of arrival. For example if you are arriving between 2 and 4 pm, please call or text Peter by 4 pm on 0430 525 188, with your booking name and he will arrange and send your cancellation confirmation.

Why is the shower availability so limited?

We are a new start-up anticipating our next live bookings from November 2024 at Manly Beach. Once this has concluded, and if successful, we will look to launch a more permanent booking service in 2025. Contact us, and let us know where you would like Shower Away to be available in the future.

May I use the bathroom for a party?

Absolutely not. We have zero tolerance for behaviour which disturbs other guests, is illegal or breaks hotel rules and appropriate action will be taken, including forfeiting any bond. Shower Away is only available for 1 to 2 persons and only for the selected timeframe. You are bound by the same rules which apply to all hotel guests.

Is the shower clean and private?

Yes. like all luxury hotel room bookings, Shower Away bookings provide the room key (via the front desk), which gives you private access during your two hour window. As you would expect, the shower is professionally cleaned by hotel housekeepers, so it is clean and fresh, ready for you to relax and have a fantastic shower experience. 

Can more than 2 people check-in?

Not without hotel approval at this stage. Currently the special Shower Away rate is only available for standard hotel rooms, which, due to hotel policies and fire regulations, generally only allow for up to 2 people. In the future we are hoping to extend our offerings to include larger rooms types (e.g. family rooms) which can provide shower services for more guests.
